The song was written to reflect the idea of community coming together in protest, and more specifically by the Parkland mass shooting protests of 2018.

The nationwide outcry from teenagers that followed in parks & public spaces was powerful and important - a call to arms for young people who were not willing to live in fear from guns within their places of education.

It was an uprising against an authority who consistently tries to suppress the collective voice of the people, and refuses to acknowledge the harm on younger generations that lax gun control has.
